William Shatner played her fictional father in a 2013 Priceline advertising campaign, which is a documented reason the two may be associated. The available sources do not establish that fans broadly believe Shatner is her real father.
Who is Kaley Cuoco’s father?
Cuoco’s father is Gary Cuoco. In a report about her family, The Independent attributed to the actress the account that her father attended every taping of The Big Bang Theory. The outlet described the series as running for 12 seasons and 279 episodes.
Why is William Shatner linked to her?
The clearest documented explanation is an advertising storyline. In a January 9, 2013, Priceline announcement, the company said its fictional “Negotiator,” played by Shatner, would have a “secret child” played by Cuoco. The campaign was scheduled to begin January 14.
Cuoco described the ad pairing as a chance to appear with Shatner “as a father and daughter team.” In that statement, she was talking about their advertising roles—not a real family relationship. Shatner’s quoted line in the announcement, “The Negotiator harbors many secrets, and this is just one of them,” likewise refers to the campaign’s fictional plot.

Was the father-daughter pairing part of a continuing campaign?
Priceline continued to feature Cuoco as a spokesperson in a 2022 campaign announcement. In May 2026, the company announced that Shatner’s Negotiator character had returned and that Randall Park was taking over the role. That later announcement supports the continuing advertising context; it does not establish that Cuoco and Shatner were currently appearing as an ad father-daughter pair.

No. The cited sources document the fictional campaign, but they do not establish how many people believe Shatner is Cuoco’s actual father or when such an idea first appeared. The campaign is a plausible explanation for the association; claims that a broad fan rumor exists go beyond what these sources show.
