Those reactions were supportive comments reported from Instagram—not a survey of fans as a whole.
What Remini and Pagán announced
On August 29, 2024, Remini and Pagán said in a joint social-media statement that they had decided to file for divorce after 28 years together and 21 years of marriage. They described the decision as the result of thought and care, and said they were sad while working out a new arrangement that would leave them together in some ways and apart in others. UPI reported the announcement, as did Good Morning America.
What they said about why the marriage changed
The couple said they had changed as people and grown accustomed to roles that no longer fit. Their joint statement, posted on Instagram and reported by Good Morning America on August 30, 2024, put it this way: “To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn’t fit us anymore.” Good Morning America reproduced the statement.
That is the explanation they chose to share publicly. It does not establish any hidden cause or private conduct, and the announcement is not a basis for speculating beyond their words. E! Online also covered the couple’s explanation.

Why some fans responded positively
News coverage of the Instagram post highlighted supportive comments praising the couple’s maturity, positive outlook, and willingness to call the marriage successful despite its ending. Yahoo Entertainment reported examples of those comments. They are selected reactions from social media, not evidence that all fans—or even a measured majority—shared the same view.
The central distinction in the couple’s message was between a relationship ending and the relationship having been a failure. “From our perspective, this marriage was a huge success,” they said in the statement reported by Yahoo Entertainment. Their wording offered a non-adversarial public account of a major change: they acknowledged sadness while also valuing what the marriage had been. That was their perspective, not a rule that every couple should describe divorce the same way.

Remini and Pagán presented the decision as a considered change in their relationship, with an ongoing bond and a new balance between togetherness and separation. The announcement explains their public framing, but it does not establish the divorce’s current legal status. As of October 8, 2026, the available reporting cited here does not verify whether it has been finalized.
