Andrew Huberman said he uses low-dose testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), began at age 45, and takes “about 125 milligrams a week.” He made the disclosure during a January 19, 2026 episode of Huberman Lab with former bodybuilder Dorian Yates. Huberman also said people should wait before considering TRT, “if do it at all.” A later report described criticism from some subreddit users, but that anecdotal reaction does not show that fans generally were furious.
What did Andrew Huberman say?
In the January 19, 2026 Huberman Lab episode with Dorian Yates, Huberman said: “I’m on low dose TRT. I started when I was 45, about 125 milligrams a week.” The age and dose are Huberman’s own account, not independently verified figures.
He added: “I always tell people, they really, really, really should wait, if do it at all.” That caution is part of the same conversation and matters when summarizing his disclosure: he described his own use while advising listeners not to rush into considering it.
Why were some listeners critical?
In a February 1, 2026 report, Futurism’s Frank Landymore described criticism from some users of the Huberman Lab subreddit. The report says commenters questioned how Huberman’s reported hormone use fit with his discussions of supplements; it also notes that some fans were unsurprised.

Those are reactions selected and characterized by one article, not the results of a representative survey. The headline’s “Fans Furious” wording should not be read as evidence that most listeners—or fans as a whole—were angry. The reported criticism centers on perceived consistency and credibility, rather than a documented finding about Huberman’s health or the effectiveness of any product.
What the disclosure does—and does not—establish
The episode establishes what Huberman said about his personal use. It does not establish why TRT was prescribed or used, whether it was prescribed, what his laboratory results were, how he was monitored, or what effects the treatment had. Nor do the episode and Futurism’s report establish that TRT caused his physique, changed audience trust, or affected supplement sales.

Huberman called his use “low dose TRT”; that description alone is not a basis for labeling his regimen, judging its safety, or deciding whether TRT is appropriate for anyone else.
