The Numbers lists F1: The Movie at $444,500,000 internationally, $189,642,436 domestically, and $634,142,436 worldwide. Box Office Mojo lists the same figures. These database totals were accessed on October 8, 2026, and can be revised.

What does the $600 million milestone mean?
Formula One World Championship Limited’s 2025 half-year review said the film had generated more than $600 million in box-office sales. That is a worldwide milestone, not an international-only gross. Apple separately reported in October 2025 that the film had surpassed $629 million globally. That was an earlier dated global figure; it should not be confused with the current database listing of $634,142,436.

The two announcements are snapshots from 2025, while the database totals are listings accessed in October 2026. They describe worldwide performance at different points in time, not competing international grosses.

Why the film’s box-office result drew attention
The 2025 Formula One review called F1: The Movie the highest-grossing Apple film to date and the highest-grossing sports film at the time of its publication. The same review described a production built around real race weekends: more than 185 hours of footage were shot across Grands Prix, more than 2,000 hours of F1 broadcast footage were recorded for the film, and the crew numbered 1,900, with roughly 400 people at each race.

Those production figures help explain the scale of the project, but they are not box-office measures. The reported $600 million milestone concerns theatrical sales.

Release dates, story and distribution
International theatrical releases began June 25, 2025, followed by the wide U.S. release on June 27. Apple Original Films presented the movie, Joseph Kosinski directed it, and Warner Bros. Pictures distributed it worldwide.

The story follows Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 prospect returning to the sport decades after a crash. His former teammate, Ruben Cervantes, asks him to help save a struggling team. Apple said the production filmed during actual Grand Prix weekends.

When and where can you watch it at home?
Apple announced premium video-on-demand and digital-purchase availability beginning August 22, 2025. It later announced a global Apple TV debut for December 12, 2025, while the film remained available to buy on participating digital platforms. Availability and subscription access can vary by region and over time.
