The Hugger is less pointed than the later heel character, but it gave Bayley a clear, relatable starting point. The contrast between that fan-facing identity and the ruthless competitor she became is part of what makes the overall arc legible.
3. Damage CTRL leader
After returning from injury in 2022, Bayley formed Damage CTRL with IYO SKY and Dakota Kai, according to her WWE profile. The faction made leadership part of her character: rather than simply opposing other wrestlers, Bayley became the center of a group story.

In 2019, Bayley cut off her ponytail, removed the Bayley Buddies, and reinvented herself as a ruthless competitor.
