Extraordinary will not return for a third season: Disney+ confirmed the cancellation in a statement reported by Variety on January 17, 2025. The comedy ended after two seasons, with its second-season finale leaving Jen’s story on a cliffhanger.
Will Extraordinary have a season 3?
No. A Disney+ representative told Variety that the series “will not be returning for a third season on the service.” The Irish Film & Television Network independently reported the non-renewal on January 28, 2025, and repeated the statement.
Hulu’s official series page lists two seasons. There is no season 3 release date or renewal announcement in the cited statements.
Why was Extraordinary cancelled?
Disney+ did not give a reason in the statement quoted by Variety. The representative praised the “hilarious, award-winning series” and thanked the British and Irish cast and crew, production partner Sid Gentle Films, and creator Emma Moran, but did not explain the decision.

The sources reporting the cancellation provide no audience figures or official performance explanation. Claims that the show was cancelled for a particular ratings, budget, or viewership reason would therefore go beyond what has been confirmed.
What happened at the end of season 2?
Variety described the finale as a cliffhanger: Jen falls into a void. With no third season confirmed, the cited sources do not establish how that scene would have been resolved or what the next season’s plot would have been.
