What was at stake in the episode?
FOX previewed two unmaskings among the three Group A contestants, with one singer moving on to the quarter-finals. The show’s format has costumed celebrities perform while the host, panel, audience, viewers, and fellow contestants try to identify them from clues; eliminated singers then reveal their identities. FOX Entertainment Global’s series description outlines that format.

The pre-episode information established the theme, contestants, announced songs, and planned number of unmaskings. It did not reveal which singer was assigned each personal song or who would be unmasked. Accordingly, “who gets unmasked?” was an outcome to watch for, not something the advance announcements answered.
