Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle is the first of three planned films adapting the manga’s final arc. For the clearest continuity, watch the anime through the Hashira Training Arc first; the film picks up after it.
Where Infinity Castle fits in the story
The franchise’s official chronology places Infinity Castle after the Hashira Training Arc. The film is based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s Infinity Castle manga arc, but it is not the complete ending: it begins a planned three-film adaptation of the final arc.
That distinction matters if you are expecting one movie to conclude the entire story. The first film starts the finale’s adaptation; the official announcement does not give release dates for the next two films.

![Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba): The Movie - Mugen Train [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51Gof-Z4l7L._SL160_.jpg)
- Tanjiro Kamado, joined with Inosuke Hashibira, a boy raised by boars who wears a boar's head, and Zenitsu Agatsuma, a scared boy who reveals his true power when he sleeps, board the Infinity Train on a new mission with the Fire Pillar, Kyojuro Rengoku, to defeat a demon who has been tormenting the people and killing the demon slayers who oppose it!
- Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc
- Mugen Train — either the film or its TV-arc retelling
- Entertainment District Arc
- Swordsmith Village Arc
- Hashira Training Arc
- Infinity Castle
This follows the official franchise chronology. If you have already watched the five story arcs through Hashira Training, you do not need to repeat them just because theatrical “To” compilation films exist. The official chronology lists those compilation releases as well as the underlying arcs, but does not identify them as required viewing.
Choosing a catch-up route
- For complete scene-by-scene continuity: watch the TV arcs. For Mugen Train, choose either the feature film or the TV retelling; the official chronology recognizes both.
- If you have seen the main arcs already: go straight to Infinity Castle rather than rewatching material solely through compilation films.
- If you are considering a “To” compilation: it is an alternative way to revisit selected material where available, not a required step according to the official chronology. The source does not quantify runtime or scene-by-scene differences, so check the specific release before choosing it as a substitute for an arc.
The story to remember before you press play
Spoiler-light setup: Tanjiro Kamado joins the Demon Slayer Corps after a demon kills his family. His younger sister Nezuko has been turned into a demon, and saving her and restoring her humanity is central to his goal.

After the Season 4 finale, Muzan Kibutsuji draws Tanjiro and the Demon Slayers into the Infinity Castle, a shifting dimensional fortress. The separated fighters face battles there, including characters such as Shinobu, Zenitsu, Tanjiro, Giyu, and Akaza. Those details establish the setup without revealing battle outcomes or character histories; look those up only if you are comfortable with story spoilers.
