At a Megyn Kelly Live appearance in Phoenix on November 22, 2025, Kirk recounted the moment this way: “He says, ‘I’m so proud of you.’ And I say, ‘God bless you,’ and I touch the back of his head.” The wording comes from Kirk’s account as quoted in People’s report, syndicated by Yahoo News.
Kirk also said, “My love language is touch, if you will,” and explained that she tells people she hugs, “God bless you,” when she touches the back of their head. Tyla likewise reported her explanation and quoted the “love language” remark.
When and where the embrace happened
The embrace took place on October 29, 2025, at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi. Kirk introduced Vance after speaking about her late husband, Charlie Kirk. People’s report says an emotional video had just played and that Kirk began crying as they walked toward one another.

What the accounts establish—and what they don’t
