Ellen DeGeneres canceled four dates on her 2024 Ellen’s Last Stand… Up tour: Dallas on July 10, San Francisco on July 21, Seattle on July 23, and Chicago on August 11. Contemporary reports said no official reason was given. Low ticket sales were raised as a possibility by one report, but were not confirmed as the cause.
Which Ellen DeGeneres tour shows were canceled?
The Los Angeles Times reported on July 5, 2024, that the canceled dates were:
- Dallas — July 10, 2024
- San Francisco — July 21, 2024
- Seattle — July 23, 2024
- Chicago — August 11, 2024
Ticket buyers received a notice stating, “Unfortunately, the Event Organiser has had to cancel your event.” The report did not identify a reason for the cancellations. The Los Angeles Times reported the dates and notice on July 5, 2024.
Was the whole tour canceled?
No. The four canceled performances were dates within a broader tour planned for 27 shows from June 19 through August 17, 2024, according to TheWrap. Its July 2024 itinerary report said other performances, including the remaining dates in San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago, were still scheduled at that time. That is a historical schedule snapshot, not a current calendar. TheWrap’s July 2024 report covered the cancellations and itinerary.

Why were the shows canceled?
No official explanation was reported in the contemporary coverage cited here. Global News suggested low ticket sales might be a factor, pointing to tickets still appearing available for other performances in San Francisco and Seattle. That was a reporter’s inference—not a stated reason from DeGeneres, her representatives, Live Nation, or a venue. Global News described the ticket-availability speculation.
How were ticket refunds handled?
In July 2024, Ticketmaster’s notice, quoted by The Independent, said buyers did not need to take action: refunds would be returned to the original payment method once the event organizer’s funds were received, and should appear within 14–21 days. That estimate was the notice’s guidance at the time, not a guarantee about every transaction today. Anyone still checking an individual purchase should contact the ticket seller or payment provider. The Independent quoted Ticketmaster’s cancellation and refund notice.

What else was happening with the tour?
TheWrap reported in July 2024 that the tour was planned for 27 dates and that its final two Minneapolis performances were set to be filmed for a Netflix special. The Los Angeles Times reported that eight of those 27 dates had sold out at the time; neither figure should be read as current ticket or itinerary information. The Los Angeles Times included the contemporaneous sold-out count.
Netflix’s official Tudum announcement described the resulting special as DeGeneres’s last and said the multi-city tour began June 19 in San Diego. The special offers a way to watch her stand-up, but it does not provide an explanation for the four cancellations. Netflix Tudum announced the special and described the tour.
