Electric Avenue’s 2026 lineup brought Split Enz back together for a performance marking 50 years since the band’s debut album, Mental Notes, alongside electronic headliner Dom Dolla and artists including Kesha, Pendulum, Becky Hill and Sammy Virji. The festival took place at Hagley Park in Christchurch on 27–28 February 2026; it has now passed.
Who played Electric Avenue 2026?
Split Enz and Dom Dolla were the leading names in the lineup announcement. The festival’s offer page also named Kesha, Pendulum, Becky Hill and Sammy Virji. The official festival information says the 2026 lineup was complete. Rolling Stone Australia’s 2025 announcement framed the booking as a meeting of a landmark New Zealand band and contemporary live and electronic acts.
Why was Split Enz reuniting?
The announcement described Split Enz’s appearance as an exclusive performance marking the 50th anniversary of Mental Notes, the band’s debut album. That anniversary gave the reunion its historical significance within a lineup otherwise led by current pop and dance names. The album itself is a useful point of entry for listeners who want to explore the band’s earlier work.

What did the festival experience mean for Christchurch?
Christchurch City Council Newsline reported in 2026 that 95% of surveyed event attendees were satisfied or very satisfied with their experience. In the same council reporting, 95% of surveyed resident attendees said events such as Electric Avenue make Christchurch more enjoyable to live in. These are survey results reported by the council, not a census of all festivalgoers or residents.
ChristchurchNZ reported that more than half of Electric Avenue attendees came from outside Christchurch. Team Event managing director Callam Mitchell said, “Electric Avenue 2026 built on the success of our two-day expansion and took the festival to another level.”

What should attendees know about festival rules?

These are practical details for people checking the festival’s information, but rules can differ between editions; consult the live event page before attending a future festival.

The available event listing identifies 26–27 February 2027 as the next dates. ChristchurchNZ reported in 2026 that 32,000 tickets had been sold for that event before artists were announced. That figure is a dated report, not a current ticket count, and it says nothing about the 2027 lineup. Check the official Electric Avenue website for current lineup and event updates.
