What songs did Eminem perform at the 2024 VMAs?
He performed “Houdini” followed by “Somebody Save Me” at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on September 11, 2024. The official MTV playlist lists the 5:18 clip as “Somebody Save Me”/“Houdini,” while ABC News and Pitchfork describe the onstage sequence as “Houdini” first and “Somebody Save Me” second.

Did Eminem recreate his 2000 VMAs performance?
Not as a full repeat of that earlier set. During “Houdini,” a crew of alter-ego lookalikes and a lookalike of Eminem’s younger self echoed the staging of his 2000 performance of “The Real Slim Shady.” Pitchfork and Universal Music Japan describe the moment as a callback or recreation of that staging.

The 2024 appearance was Eminem’s second time opening the VMAs. His 2010 opening featured “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie” with Rihanna, according to ABC News and Pitchfork.
Who joined Eminem at the 2024 VMAs?

“Houdini” won Best Hip-Hop and Best Visual Effects, according to MTV’s 2024 winners list. Those awards recognized the song and video, not Eminem’s live opening performance.
