Forbes reported on June 20, 2024, that Sean “Diddy” Combs’s Instagram photos and videos had disappeared, describing it as an apparent deletion. The report established what was visible on the account that day, not why it happened. The timing came amid public allegations and after Combs had posted an apology video the previous month.
What happened to Diddy Combs’s Instagram posts?
On June 20, 2024, Forbes reported that Combs “appears to have deleted all of his Instagram posts Thursday.” The outlet said the account’s pictures and videos had disappeared. Forbes also noted that the account had almost 20 million followers at the time; that is a June 2024 figure, not a current count. Forbes’s June 20 report did not provide a confirmed explanation from Combs.
His representatives did not respond to Forbes’s request for comment about the deletion that Thursday morning. The available reporting does not establish whether Combs personally removed the content, why it disappeared, or what the account’s current state is.
What was the surrounding context?
The apology video and 2016 footage
Forbes reported that Combs’s Instagram had carried an apology video posted the previous month. The video followed CNN’s publication of surveillance footage from March 2016 showing Combs shoving, kicking and grabbing Cassie Ventura. In the video, Combs called his behavior “disgusting” and said he was “truly sorry.” Forbes reported on the video and its context.

Allegations and lawsuits
Forbes described the deletion amid allegations made by several women and reported that Combs denied the allegations. A later Associated Press report, first published October 14, 2024, and updated October 15, described at least six new federal lawsuits filed in Manhattan alleging, among other things, rape and sexual assault. Those lawsuits contained allegations, not findings established by the AP report. The AP reported that Combs denied all claims. The Associated Press report also quoted his lawyers’ defense position: “In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman.”
What the deletion does—and does not—show
- It shows: Forbes observed that Combs’s Instagram photos and videos had disappeared on June 20, 2024.
- It does not establish: Combs’s motive, a connection to any specific allegation or lawsuit, or an admission of wrongdoing.
- It does not establish: the account’s present state or the current outcome of proceedings described in later reporting.
The timing is part of the news context, but it is not proof of cause. A June 27, 2024, TIME essay later attributed reporting about the account deletion, including the apology video’s removal, to People; Forbes remains the direct source for the June 20 observation. TIME’s essay offers that later context.
