The Dark Avengers season was announced on January 7, 2025, and is not MARVEL SNAP’s latest season. As of October 8, 2026, the game’s official latest-season listing is Vampires vs. Zombies, announced October 2, 2026. Dark Avengers is best understood as a past season whose announced cards and events can be documented, not as a guide to today’s card balance or availability. The original Dark Avengers announcement lays out its lineup and seasonal features.
What cards were in the Dark Avengers season?
The season presented former villains as a new Avengers group. Its January 2025 announcement named Iron Patriot as the season-pass card and introduced four Series 5 cards: Victoria Hand, Moonstone, Bullseye, and Ares. The following is the card text published in that announcement; it should not be read as confirmation of their live abilities today.
| Card | Role in the announcement | Announced ability |
|---|---|---|
| Iron Patriot | Season-pass card | “On Reveal: Add a random 4, 5, or 6-Cost card to your hand. If you’re winning here after next turn, give it -4 Cost.” |
| Victoria Hand | New Series 5 card | “Ongoing: Your cards that were created in your hand have +2 Power.” |
| Moonstone | New Series 5 card | “Ongoing: Has the Ongoing effects of your 1, 2, and 3-Cost cards here.” |
| Bullseye | New Series 5 card | “Activate: Discard all cards that cost 1 or less from your hand. Afflict that many different enemy cards with -2 Power.” |
| Ares | New Series 5 card | “On Reveal: Compare the Power of the top 3 cards of both decks. If your total is higher, +6 Power.” |
Those exact ability descriptions and the season-pass designation come from the official season announcement. They describe what was announced for the season, rather than establishing current balance, current card text, or a present-day recommendation.
When did the season start, and how were the cards scheduled?
The announcement was published January 7, 2025. It said Victoria Hand, Moonstone, Bullseye, and Ares would arrive in the Token Shop on weekly January dates, and gave historical Spotlight Cache pairings:

What locations and activities did the season include?
Locations and shop features
The season announcement listed two location effects: Asgard Besieged added The Destroyer to the winning side after turn three, while The Peak stole the leftmost card from the opponent’s hand.
