Deezer’s Flow Tuner lets listeners shape the automated Flow playlist by activating or deactivating genres and subgenres, and adding styles they want to explore. The feature was reported by T3 on February 16, 2026; that report does not specify which plans, countries, or app versions include it.
What Deezer Flow Tuner changes
Flow is Deezer’s continuously playing playlist, built around a listener’s favorite tracks, artists, and genres. T3 reports that listeners could already adjust Flow’s mood and genre focus; Flow Tuner adds more direct genre and subgenre controls.
With the reported controls, listeners can activate or remove genres that influence the recommendations, or add genres they may not normally choose as a way to explore unfamiliar music. T3 describes these capabilities but does not report independent testing of how the controls affect a playlist.
Why Deezer says it added the controls
Deezer head of product Marin Lorant described the aim as making recommendations less opaque: “Flow Tuner is based on a simple idea: recommendations should not be a black box,” Lorant said.

Lorant also said listeners want to find the right music for the moment and influence how recommendations work. In the company’s account, letting users activate, remove, or explore genres with a gesture makes the algorithm a tool listeners can shape. Lorant called the result “more accurate, more personal” and said it opens the door to more discovery.
Those are Deezer’s stated rationale and product claims. T3’s report provides no measurements or independent evidence establishing that Flow Tuner improves accuracy, personalization, or discovery.

What to know before switching to Deezer
Moving a library
T3 also mentions Deezer’s Tune My Music option, which it describes as a way to transfer listening tastes and library items—including playlists, albums, artists, and songs—from another service. Spotify is given as an example source. The report does not establish the full list of supported services, eligibility, or transfer limits, so check Deezer’s current terms before relying on a particular migration.
AI-generated music in Flow
The report says Deezer has an AI detection tool intended to prevent AI-generated music from reaching a listener’s Flow experience. It does not provide technical details, detection-performance figures, or independent validation, so the claim should be understood as a reported product capability rather than a guarantee about every track.
