The clearest examples include That’s So Raven co-stars Raven-Symoné and Anneliese van der Pol, while the relationships between Hannah Montana actors Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment—and Cyrus and Selena Gomez—are better described through a mix of earlier closeness, ups and downs, and later reconnection. Public remarks and appearances offer evidence of affection, not a complete picture of anyone’s private life.
Raven-Symoné and Anneliese van der Pol: lasting closeness after That’s So Raven
Raven-Symoné and Anneliese van der Pol have the strongest evidence here of a friendship they themselves described as ongoing. In a 2017 interview, Raven-Symoné said, “We are still close today, we chilled after the show ended,” and added that they had “always taken care of each other on our off time.” Van der Pol spoke about their mutual respect in a September 2019 Today interview: “Raven and I have always really respected each other’s talent, and that goes a long way.” She also said they made each other better at work.
Their later work together on Raven’s Home and public appearances provide additional context, but the direct statements are the clearest evidence of how they characterized the relationship. Elite Daily’s account, updated February 20, 2024, recounts the interviews and their continued collaboration.
Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment: affection after a rocky period
Cyrus and Osment’s story is not a simple claim that the pair were always close. In a 2008 Seventeen interview, Cyrus called their bond sister-like, saying they had an “instant friendship.” But in her 2009 autobiography, she also described tension: “Emily and I tried to be friends, we really did, but it always ended in a fight.”

Later public exchanges suggest warmth and reconnection. During a Hannah Montana cast reunion, Osment wrote that they had grown up together and were “still fully in love with each other,” then sent Cyrus a message of love. Cyrus replied that she missed Osment and wished she could have been there. The remarks are evidence of affection at that reunion, not proof that they were in frequent contact at every point between then and now. Elite Daily’s timeline collects the earlier comments and reunion messages.
Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus: a warm reunion at the 2026 anniversary special
Gomez and Cyrus shared an affectionate reunion during the 2026 Hannah Montana anniversary special. Their exchange is recent public evidence of warmth between the former Disney Channel co-stars. It does not establish how often they see one another privately or whether they would describe themselves as close friends today. People’s coverage of the special reports on the reunion.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato: reconnecting after their Disney years
Gomez and Lovato have also reunited in person, followed by affectionate public messages. Lovato spoke about reconnecting with peers from the Disney era. That supports describing their recent interaction as warm and their relationship as renewed contact; a reunion and public messages alone do not show the frequency or depth of a private friendship. E! News’ report covers their reunion and comments.

A former co-star calling someone a friend, describing ongoing closeness, or talking about reconnecting is more informative than a shared photo or a reunion appearance by itself. Even direct comments are tied to the date and setting in which they were made. Public evidence can show that performers have expressed affection or stayed in touch; it cannot reveal the whole private history of a relationship.

A short list of documented examples should not be mistaken for a complete roster of former Disney Channel co-stars who remain friends.
