Extras that add historical context

Steam’s product description says the collection includes museum interviews and galleries, a soundtrack player, save functions, display options, and tools for replaying or moving through gameplay. These are listed product features, not independent findings about performance. Steam’s product listing identifies Digital Eclipse as developer and Disney and Nighthawk Interactive as publishers for the PC version.
What are the main criticisms?
The games still show their age
The collection does not erase the original games’ difficulty or dated design. Game Revolution’s review, reproduced on Metacritic, described the package as “a solid collection” while noting that neither game had aged without blemishes. On Xbox One, some review excerpts similarly praise rewind and autoplay as ways to soften punishing sections, while more skeptical reviews question the appeal for people who do not already enjoy retro games. The SNES version of Aladdin is missing
The absence of Capcom’s SNES Aladdin is a recurring caveat in Switch coverage. Because that version is not included, this collection should not be treated as a complete archive of the game’s console adaptations. Its focus is the versions actually bundled, rather than every distinct release of Aladdin.
Do critic scores differ by platform?
Yes. Metacritic reports different scores and sample sizes for its all-platform and Xbox One listings. They are separate review samples and should not be combined or treated as a head-to-head technical comparison.

Steam describes multiple versions of both games, including console and handheld editions, alongside collection features. The PC listing specifically names an exclusive Aladdin “Final Cut” with difficulty adjustments, camera refinements, and bug fixes. It also lists 1080p graphics and visual options, rewind, saves, an interactive viewer that lets players jump into a playthrough, museum interviews and galleries, and soundtrack players. Those specifications describe the storefront listing and should not be read as independent testing results.
