Yes. In Netflix’s The Witcher Season 1, Episode 3, “Betrayer Moon,” Geralt bites the striga on the shoulder during their fight. The bite is part of the physical struggle, not a curse-breaking ritual or a special witcher technique.
When does Geralt bite the striga?
The bite happens during the overnight confrontation in “Betrayer Moon,” the third episode of Season 1. A recap of the episode describes Geralt biting the transformed princess Adda on the shoulder after she attacks and wounds him. The episode recap reports the bite as a screen action; the episode transcript provides the surrounding context but does not mention the bite.
Why are Geralt and the striga fighting?
Geralt is trying to break the curse rather than simply kill the striga. He needs to keep her out of her crypt until the rooster crows three times. As the Netflix creature guide explains, Geralt uses a seal to keep himself safely locked inside while they fight. The bite is described as part of that physical confrontation, not as a separate step in lifting the curse.
Is the bite also in the book?
The Netflix scene belongs to “Betrayer Moon.” The striga story is also part of Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher fiction, collected in English in The Last Wish. The available book extract provides literary context but does not establish whether the novel includes the same shoulder bite. It is safest to treat the bite as a detail confirmed for the Netflix episode, not assume it is identical in the book.
