Denise Richards Ordered to Pay Temporary Spousal Support in Divorce From Aaron Phypers

Aaron Phypers—not Denise Richards—requested spousal support when he filed for divorce in July 2025. A later temporary court order directed Richards to pay him $5,000 a month, plus specified fees. In the latest located report, Phypers alleged that $41,500 in support and fees remained unpaid; that figure was not reported as a court finding.

Who first asked for spousal support?

Phypers sought spousal support in his divorce petition, which the Los Angeles Times reported was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on July 7, 2025. He cited irreconcilable differences and listed July 4 as the separation date. The Times also reported that he asked to keep assets and debts separate.

In his declaration, Phypers said he had earned no income since closing a business and estimated Richards earned more than $250,000 a month from several ventures. That was his estimate in a court filing, not independently verified income.

What did the judge order Richards to pay?

According to Us Weekly’s February 27, 2026 report on court documents, a February 25 order required Richards to pay Phypers temporary spousal support of $5,000 per month beginning March 5, 2026. The report said the monthly payments would continue until a further court order.

The same report said the order required Richards to pay $25,000 in attorney fees and $5,000 for a forensic accountant. These are terms of a temporary order, not evidence of a final divorce judgment or a permanent support award.

Is the reported $41,500 debt confirmed?

No court determination resolving that amount appears in the latest located report. In July 2026, Phypers alleged in a filing that Richards owed $41,500 in support and attorney fees. Us Weekly described the amount as Phypers’ allegation and reported that Richards had not publicly addressed the filing at that time. It should not be stated as an established debt or finding that she failed to pay.

What other financial figures have been reported?

Other dollar amounts in coverage also come from party filings rather than independent audits or court findings. Us Weekly reported in December 2025 that Phypers claimed $850,000 in total debt in a financial declaration, including rent, loans, and legal fees. The report attributes that total to his declaration; it does not establish the amount as audited or adjudicated.

How does the restraining order fit into the case?

The restraining-order proceedings are a separate development from the support order. Richards alleged abuse, threats, and weapons possession in a July 2025 court filing; Phypers denied abusing her. The allegations and denial are attributed statements, not findings about the conduct. The Los Angeles Times reported that a judge granted Richards a five-year restraining order on November 7, 2025, with restrictions including no contact and no firearms. The order is reported to expire November 7, 2030.
