Why viewers connected Matteus’s beard to the breakup
Matteus shaved his beard while the contestants were still in the house. A Gshow recap of the February 10 events noted Deniziane’s subdued reaction to the change. Their relationship ended later, shortly before her elimination, and some viewers turned that sequence into a joke about the beard being the reason.
The timing explains the meme, but it does not establish why the relationship ended. The beard explanation was online speculation, not Deniziane’s account of the breakup.
How Deniziane responded after her elimination
In post-elimination coverage, Deniziane was surprised by the online interpretation and said the separation was not because of Matteus’s appearance, POPLine reported on February 21. The report describes her reaction, but does not provide a full interview transcript; the available account therefore supports a paraphrase, not a verbatim quote.

Globoplay’s official catalog for Bate-Papo BBB 24 lists a segment titled “Foi por causa da barba? Deniziane explica por que terminou com Matteus” (“Was it because of the beard? Deniziane explains why she broke up with Matteus”). It also lists a separate segment in which she has fun with memes about her participation in BBB 24. Catalog availability may vary by time and location.
The catalog titles identify the topics of the segments; they are not interview transcripts. The distinction matters: the meme was a joke about the timing, while Deniziane’s reported response rejected appearance as the reason for the breakup.
