No release date or post–Avengers: Secret Wars schedule has been announced for a direct sequel to Deadpool & Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds said in July 2026 that another Deadpool film would happen “eventually,” but he did not confirm a sequel to the team-up movie. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had also left the possibility of more stories with both characters open-ended in 2025.
When will Deadpool & Wolverine 2 come out?
There is no confirmed release date or release year for a direct sequel in the announcements and interviews cited here. Marvel Studios and Disney have not announced a sequel title, production start, plot or release window. Without those details, a specific year would be speculation.
The original Deadpool & Wolverine was a Marvel Studios film directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Disney’s press kit promoted its original U.S. theatrical date as July 25, 2024; that date is background for the existing film, not a clue to a sequel schedule. Disney’s press materials identify the film and its original release information.
Will it release after Avengers: Secret Wars?
That has not been confirmed. No reviewed studio announcement places a Deadpool and Wolverine sequel before or after Secret Wars, and the sources do not establish a current release date for Secret Wars.

Marvel’s June 13, 2023 schedule notice moved Avengers: Secret Wars to May 7, 2027, but that is historical schedule information, not confirmation of its present date. Disney’s July 2026 Marvel announcement listed Avengers: Doomsday for December 18, 2026 and announced projects for 2028; the reviewed announcement did not provide a current Secret Wars date or announce a Deadpool follow-up. Marvel’s 2023 schedule notice and Disney’s July 2026 announcement should therefore not be read as a confirmed sequel timeline.
What have Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Feige actually said?
Reynolds said another Deadpool film would happen eventually
On July 22, 2026, Variety reported Reynolds saying, “There’s eventually, you know, remotely another ‘Deadpool’ film. So it’s going to be great.” He did not name Deadpool & Wolverine 2, give a release window or connect the project to Secret Wars. Reynolds also described Deadpool as a supporting character in what he had started writing, rather than the center of the story. That comment does not confirm a second team-up with Wolverine. Variety’s July 22, 2026 report covers his remarks.

Feige left a possible return open
Asked about a follow-up with Reynolds and Jackman, Feige said on July 21, 2025: “I think there is more fun to be had with both of those characters,” then added, “But we’ll see where.” That expresses openness, not a commitment to a sequel or a planned release slot. Variety’s July 21, 2025 report quotes Feige’s answer.
