The July 2024 Shanghai preview report did not confirm a Wolverine-versus-Hulk fight was shown. Beebom said an event screened roughly 30–40 minutes of footage and repeated the fight claim, but acknowledged that its preview description did not establish it. Later coverage confirmed several cameos in the completed film; it does not show which characters appeared in the Shanghai footage.
What was screened in Shanghai?
On July 3, 2024, Beebom reported that an event in Shanghai screened approximately 30–40 minutes of the film. That is the outlet’s reported duration, not an official runtime or an independently verified measurement. Its account described violence, humor, multiple versions of Logan, cameos, and jokes about Fox and Disney. It also said the preview description included scenes from the trailer within its first 40 minutes, so it should not be read as a complete plot summary. Beebom’s July 3 report was a secondary account, not an official scene-by-scene transcript.
Was Wolverine versus Hulk confirmed?
No—not as a scene shown at the Shanghai event. Beebom repeated reports that a Wolverine-versus-Hulk scene had been confirmed, but its own account said the preview description did not establish that detail and urged readers to wait for verification. The available report therefore does not support the stronger claim that the fight was part of the Shanghai footage. No original screening transcript, attendee recording, or Marvel statement confirming the alleged Shanghai fight is established in the cited material.
Which cameos were confirmed after release?
The film’s official title is Deadpool & Wolverine; “Deadpool 3” was a common pre-release shorthand. Marvel lists the release date as July 26, 2024. Marvel’s film page provides the official title and date.

After release, the Los Angeles Times published a spoiler-marked guide identifying appearances in the completed film, including Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, Dafne Keen as Laura/X-23, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Wesley Snipes as Blade, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Those are post-release confirmations about the film as released—not proof that any particular cameo appeared in the Shanghai preview. Read the Los Angeles Times spoiler guide for its full list.
Why pre-release cameo lists were unreliable
Rumors and reports before release need to be separated from what was eventually in the movie. In a July 23, 2024 report, GameSpot quoted executive producer Wendy Jacobson: “There may or may not have been some subterfuge and [misdirection] on the internet or in-person in order to protect the secrecy.” She also said: “Anyone showing up has a crucial story purpose or a beginning, middle, and end as a character arc.” Her comments offer context for the uncertainty surrounding pre-release lists; they do not verify any specific Shanghai-screening detail. GameSpot’s July 23 report contains the interview.
