There is no reliable confirmation in the available reporting that Danielle Rose Russell lost weight, and no verified figure for any change. What is documented is her public response to body-focused attacks: in 2018 she called body-shaming bullying, and in a 2021 interview she spoke about body positivity and unrealistic appearance standards for women in entertainment.
Did Danielle Rose Russell lose weight?
The sources documenting the online claims do not establish that Russell lost weight. A November 2021 article described the claims as speculation and said she had not addressed the rumors; it does not verify a change, an amount, a method, or a cause. Hollywood Mask’s 2021 report is not a statement from Russell.
No reliable, attributable figure for Russell’s weight or any weight change is established by these reports. Her appearance alone cannot confirm a change, and the sources do not support linking a supposed change to online harassment, diet, exercise, or health.
What did Russell say about body-shaming?
On May 29, 2018, Russell addressed attacks about her body in an Instagram Stories message, as reported contemporaneously by Just Jared Jr. She objected to people suggesting that her curves made her unworthy of a role or a bad actress. She said her curves made her feel empowered and described body-focused attacks as bullying and hatred. The report reproduces her statement, including: “This is bullying and hatred, and I will never stand for that.” Read the Just Jared Jr. report.

What did she say about body positivity?
In a January 2021 interview with Glitter Magazine, Russell named body positivity as something she had long felt passionate about. She criticized the “extremely unattainable standard” for how women’s bodies should look in film and television, and said that being happy, healthy, and a good person matters more than societal expectations about appearance or lifestyle.
