What Slater said about the divorce
In an August 16, 2023 report, ABC News said Slater discussed the breakup on The Viall Files. She described disagreement about when to have children as part of the decision to end the marriage. Slater said she wanted children but was still working out her own timing, while she understood Farber to be ready sooner.

ABC News quoted her saying, “It’s really the kid thing. Which seems very interesting because I do want to have kids.” Slater also said, “We’re just potentially in two different places. But the hard part was that the love actually didn’t go and we still have that.” Her account describes different readiness around family planning; it does not establish that Farber has publicly disputed her explanation.

Later signs of a cordial relationship
Us Weekly reported in October 2025 that Farber said in a TikTok, relayed through a fan video, that working with Slater was “not at all” awkward and that he was happy for her and Bersten. The report’s attribution runs through that fan video.
On March 8, 2026, Us Weekly reported that Slater and Farber appeared together in a playful Instagram video. Slater captioned it by saying exes can be mature and friends and that she had “healed [and] moved on from that.” These public moments indicate cordiality, but cannot establish every aspect of their private relationship.
