Their hooks range from martial-arts action to a Watchtower murder investigation. The dates below are the plans reported when DC’s books were announced on August 17, 2024—not confirmation of current availability.

How does each series put its lead character in focus?
Batgirl: Cassandra Cain and Lady Shiva
The ongoing series starts with an assassin attack that brings Cassandra together with Lady Shiva, her mother and one of the DC universe’s most formidable fighters. Brombal described the book as a “jaw-dropping, martial-arts filled adventure” and said it would celebrate Cassandra ahead of her 25th anniversary.

Black Canary: Best of the Best: Dinah’s fight with Shiva
King’s six-issue story makes the question of who is the better fighter—Dinah or Shiva—its central contest. Dinah learns from several fighters, including her mother, Batman, and Wildcat. King described the miniseries as “gorgeous, epic, heartbreaking, heartwarming” and focused on what makes Dinah distinctive.

The Question: All Along the Watchtower: Renee Montoya investigates
Montoya’s assignment is a murder investigation aboard the Justice League Watchtower in the aftermath of Absolute Power. Segura said he had taken to heart earlier stories showing Renee trying to overcome her own demons and do the right thing. He cited classic and contemporary murder mysteries as influences, giving the premise a superhero-noir angle rather than a straightforward team adventure.
