What is Percy Jackson Season 2 about?
The season brings the demigods back to Camp Half-Blood, where its protective border has been breached. Percy sets out to find his missing friend Grover and recover the Golden Fleece in the Sea of Monsters. Annabeth, Clarisse and Tyson join the quest as Percy faces the threat posed by Luke and Kronos. The central quest and characters come from Riordan’s second Percy Jackson novel, The Sea of Monsters.
The series is an adaptation, not a scene-for-scene retelling. Executive producer Dan Shotz told D23 that the show could move beyond Percy’s first-person perspective to spend time with characters such as Clarisse and Luke. Rick Riordan described what he enjoyed in the adaptation as “the character work — the quieter moments when we have Percy and Annabeth and they’re in a shipwreck.” Both comments appeared in D23’s December 9, 2025, feature: D23’s Season 2 feature.
When did Season 2 come out, and how was it released?
Disney announced the premiere for December 10, 2025. The first two episodes arrived that day on Disney+ and Hulu, with new episodes scheduled for Wednesdays. D23’s feature gives January 21, 2026, as the run-through date. These are the announced U.S. launch services and schedule; they do not establish what is currently available in every country or how subscriptions are packaged there.

The December 10 premiere date was revealed by Riordan at a San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel on July 24, 2025, according to D23’s panel announcement. Disney confirmed the two-episode launch and weekly schedule in its November 6, 2025, press announcement.

The names and roles are from Disney’s season announcement. D23’s July 2025 panel report also noted that the teaser offered a first look at Tyson. That report discussed Nico and Bianca casting for Season 3 as a separate announcement, not part of the Season 2 cast list.
What did D23 report about the production?
D23 reported that filming the Camp Half-Blood chariot race took around 13 days and used practical horses rather than CG horses. In the same feature, Walker Scobell discussed an Ironclad sequence and a fight involving Scylla and Charybdis. These are production details reported by D23 and attributed to its interviews, not independent production observations.

Is there an official companion podcast?
Disney announced an unscripted companion podcast to begin on December 10, 2025, with episodes released after each series episode. Its announcement listed Disney+, Hulu, YouTube and podcast platforms as places to find it. That was a dated launch announcement, not confirmation of present-day availability in every territory; check the relevant service’s current catalog.
