El efecto es externo y temporal: no cambia de forma permanente la estructura del rostro ni elimina las arrugas. Al retirar la cinta, la piel vuelve a su aspecto previo, y el adhesivo puede irritarla o dañarla.
Qué hace la cinta facial con hilos
La técnica usa tiras adhesivas y cordones para tirar de la piel hacia atrás. Según Cleveland Clinic, los cordones suelen colocarse cerca de las sienes y atarse detrás de la cabeza, con la intención de elevar visualmente los ojos y las mejillas. La tensión puede modificar el contorno que se ve en una imagen, aunque la cinta o los cordones podrían notarse de cerca.
Es una tensión superficial, no una modificación de los tejidos. El cirujano plástico Martin Newman, MD, citado por Cleveland Clinic, describe el recurso como útil para cambiar temporalmente la apariencia, por ejemplo, al posar para una fotografía. No hay evidencia aportada aquí de que el kit viral específico produzca un cambio persistente.
Cuánto dura el efecto y qué no puede hacer
La piel es flexible: al tensarla, una arruga puede quedar menos visible mientras la cinta está puesta. Al quitarla, el alisado o la elevación desaparecen y las arrugas vuelven. Como resume Newman: “Your wrinkles will come back.”

Consumer Reports, en un artículo sobre bandas de compresión facial publicado el 2 de febrero de 2026, recoge comentarios dermatológicos según los cuales esas bandas no pueden reposicionar permanentemente la musculatura profunda. Esa observación aporta contexto anatómico, pero no es una prueba clínica de cada kit viral de cinta con hilos. Tampoco se identificó un ensayo clínico del kit que demuestre resultados duraderos.
Riesgos para la piel
El adhesivo puede retirar el estrato córneo, la capa más externa de la piel, y causar irritación, dermatitis o una reacción alérgica. También puede producir ampollas que podrían dejar cicatriz. NBC Select recogió además la advertencia de una especialista de que no se recomienda tirar a largo plazo de la delicada piel facial. Las fuentes consultadas no establecen una tasa de efectos adversos ni un protocolo universal aplicable a todos los adhesivos.

Si decides probarla
- Elige un producto diseñado específicamente para el rostro y sigue sus instrucciones de colocación y retirada, como recomienda Cleveland Clinic.
- No improvises con cinta doméstica: no está indicada para la piel facial y el adhesivo puede causar daño al retirarla.
- Comprueba qué incluye el kit y cómo se usa. «Cinta facial con hilos» puede referirse a un conjunto con cordones, mientras que otros productos son tiras adhesivas o cinta kinesiotape cosmética.
- No tomes las promesas comerciales de lifting permanente, drenaje u otros beneficios como resultados clínicamente demostrados.
Qué comprobar antes de comprar
La ficha consultada de CureTape Beauty corresponde a una cinta kinesiotape cosmética facial; no confirma que incluya los cordones del método viral ni valida las afirmaciones de todos los productos de esta categoría. Para comparar kits, verifica el contenido, las zonas indicadas, el tipo de adhesivo según el fabricante y las instrucciones de aplicación y retirada. Una etiqueta o descripción comercial no demuestra que el producto sea seguro para cada persona.
