Heels has no confirmed third season. Starz canceled the wrestling drama after two seasons in September 2023, and creator-showrunner Mike O’Malley said the team was looking for another home. Netflix later brought the first two seasons to a wider audience, but that exposure never became a renewal announcement. Actor Stephen Amell has since pointed to ownership and distribution as complications.
Has Heels been renewed for season 3?
No. There is no confirmed season-three order or production plan in the available reporting. Starz canceled Heels after two seasons in September 2023. TheWrap reported that the network also canceled three other series; an unnamed person familiar with the decision told the outlet the shows had not found a large enough audience for renewal. TheWrap’s cancellation report established the end of the Starz run, not the end of every effort to continue the series.

What did the creator say about finding a new home?
On September 29, 2023, showrunner Mike O’Malley said the team was actively looking for another network and said, “I really do think it’s going to have a life someplace else.” He also stressed that the season-two finale was not intended to be the series’ final episode. Those remarks described an effort and an optimistic hope; they were not an agreement with a new broadcaster.
Did the Netflix release make a revival more likely?
Netflix added the first two seasons in the United States in September 2024, giving the show a new audience. Before that release, O’Malley described the licensing move as an opportunity for more people to discover Heels. “Hopefully, enough of them will watch it,” he told TV Insider. He did not say Netflix had ordered, committed to, or was negotiating a third season.

What’s on Netflix reported that Heels accumulated 11.7 million viewing hours and 1.5 million views during its Netflix tenure. Those are the outlet’s figures, not an official Netflix renewal threshold, and they do not show that the performance was sufficient to revive the series. The same outlet reported on August 21, 2026, that both seasons were scheduled to leave Netflix US on September 15, 2026. That reported date has passed; current availability elsewhere has not been verified. Read What’s on Netflix’s report on the reported departure.
Why could a third season be complicated?
On March 3, 2026, Amell said a third season would have been complicated even if Netflix viewership had been strong, raising the question of who owned the series. His comments point to a practical distinction: audience interest alone does not settle who can authorize, finance, distribute, or produce more episodes. The available reporting does not establish a new rights deal or a current production arrangement. Amell’s comments on the complications do not amount to a cancellation of any possible future revival, but they offer no confirmation one is moving forward.

What is Heels about?
The series follows brothers Jack and Ace Slade as they try to keep their late father’s family wrestling promotion, the Duffy Wrestling League, alive in Georgia. Their conflict over the promotion and their father’s legacy anchors a drama about work, ambition, relationships, and community. O’Malley described professional wrestling as both athletic performance and storytelling in an interview with TV Insider.
