The City of Perth has scheduled its next Christmas Lights Trail for 27 November to 27 December 2026. The “huge 3.5km light trail throughout central Perth” in the headline refers to the 2025 edition, not a confirmed 2026 route: the City’s event plan anticipates 18 to 22 stops next year, but final route and visitor details have not been established in the plan.
What the 3.5km Perth light trail included in 2025
PerthNow reported on 4 December 2025 that the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail ran from 28 November to 28 December, with 22 installations along a 3.5km route through Perth’s CBD. It is the City of Perth’s annual Christmas Lights Trail; the “Rio Tinto” name was used for the 2025 event.
Among the installations highlighted in the 2025 report were Christmas Tree Lane at Yagan Square, GeomeTree in Central Park and Elfie Selfie at Elizabeth Quay. Moodjar Sentinels paid tribute to the Moodjar Tree and its cultural importance to Noongar people, accompanied by a soundtrack by Phillip Walleystack.
