Cineplex’s Keanu Fest was a limited retrospective that ran from August 30 to September 30, 2024, marking Keanu Reeves’s 60th birthday. The reported lineup included Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, The Matrix, Point Break with RiffTrax, John Wick, Parenthood and Something’s Gotta Give. It was a past, theatre-specific program—not a current screening or ticket offer.
Which movies were part of Cineplex’s Keanu Fest?
Contemporary reporting described six core films, spanning Reeves’s starring roles in comedy, science fiction and action as well as supporting performances. Cineplex’s announcement, reproduced by Richard Crouse, also mentioned a Saturday matinee of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run. That title is best treated as an additional event detail: the available reports do not explain whether it was included in the six-film count.

The schedule was for select sessions in select theatres, not a continuing nationwide engagement. MobileSyrup’s August 22, 2024 report gives the dated six-title schedule. The official Cineplex event listing confirms the birthday-retrospective framing and selected September dates, including John Wick and Something’s Gotta Give. The announcement reproduced by Richard Crouse supplies the anniversary framing and SpongeBob matinee mention.
Why did Cineplex call it Keanu Fest?
The event marked Reeves’s 60th birthday in September 2024. Cineplex’s official French-language listing described special screenings of some of his most notable films; the English wording here is a translation, not a verbatim English quotation. The anniversary notes were also tied to the 2024 program: Cineplex’s announcement cited 35 years for Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, 25 years for The Matrix and 10 years for John Wick.
