No—not necessarily. Cobra Kai season 6 is the end of the main series, but co-creator Josh Heald said the creative team has ideas for another iteration of the story. That is not a confirmation of a spin-off: Heald said any next step would depend on discussions with Sony and Netflix, and no specific character’s return has been established.
Is Cobra Kai season 6 the end of the original series?
Yes. Netflix and the show’s creators presented season 6 as the final season and the intended conclusion to the story of Daniel, Johnny, and the wider Miyagiverse. Heald summed up the distinction in a February 21, 2025 Television Academy interview: “So this is the end of the mothership.”
The final season arrived in three parts, totaling 15 episodes. Netflix’s finale event was released on February 13, 2025, the date also given in its farewell coverage. Netflix’s season 6 guide lists all three parts as available, while the Netflix Media Center title page provides official series information.
Could there be a Cobra Kai spin-off or another continuation?
It is possible, but it has not been confirmed. Heald said the creators have “a lot of ideas about where we can take this story in another iteration,” while making clear that pursuing one would require discussions with Sony and Netflix. Ideas from the creative team are not the same as a greenlit series, announced release, or confirmed cast.

The available statements do not identify which characters might appear in a future project. Until Netflix or Sony announces a specific production, any claim that a particular character is returning—or that a spin-off is definitely happening—goes beyond what has been established.
What did the creators intend the finale to resolve?
The season-six creative goal was to resolve the relationships and storylines developed across the series. Heald described the finale as tying off what the show had been building toward, even as he left open the possibility of a different continuation for the franchise. Netflix likewise described season 6 as the conclusion its executive producers wanted to offer Daniel, Johnny, and the Miyagiverse. Its finale recap covers how the series closes its central story.
