Were the movies free, and how did tickets work?
For the 2025 edition, Cineplex and XSCAPE movie tickets were free and available only in person at participating venues on November 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. local time. Distribution was first come, first served, so the announcement did not guarantee that tickets would remain available throughout the window. Cineplex listed Minions: Rise of Gru, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Sing 2 and The Wild Robot as family-film examples and directed guests to its site for showtimes. These were details of the 2025 event, not a confirmed future lineup. Read Cineplex’s 2025 event announcement for its original terms.
What gaming and snack offers were available in 2025?
The 2025 offers differed by venue and ended at different times. They should not be assumed to apply to another edition.

Which charity did the 2025 event support?
Cineplex said the 2025 event supported BGC Canada. For the full day, it planned to donate $1 from every food and beverage purchase, XSCAPE playcard purchase or reload, and game band purchase or reload at The Rec Room and Playdium. Cineplex’s annual report later confirmed the event supported BGC Canada through donations connected with concession and food-and-beverage purchases. The sources do not establish a donation total for 2025 or confirm the charity partner for a future event. Cineplex’s announcement also reported that more than 90% of BGC Clubs members surveyed said their experience helped them feel more confident, make better choices and feel excited to try new things; the release did not state when the survey took place or identify its original report.

Is Community Day the same as Family Favourites?
No. Community Day is a special charity event; Family Favourites is a separate recurring program with select Saturday screenings. Cineplex’s current Family Favourites page lists an in-theatre ticket price of $3.99 plus tax, while online fees vary by membership. That is not a Community Day price, and program details may change. Check the Family Favourites page for current listings.
