What record was Reze said to break?
Crunchyroll News called the dance the most popular anime-related post of all time on X. Its headline read, “Meet the star of X’s most popular anime-related post of all time”. This supports describing the post as a reported record-breaker, but not as a platform-certified achievement: the consulted sources do not provide confirmation from X, define exactly which posts count as “anime-related,” or establish a dated, authoritative engagement total.
“Most popular” also does not establish that the post holds the record for likes. Likes, views and reposts are different measures; a ranking needs to name the metric, the comparison set and the date. Without those details, it is more accurate to say Crunchyroll characterized the post as X’s most popular anime-related post than to claim it is definitively the most-liked anime post.

How does Reze fit into the film?
The Reze Arc film is a theatrical continuation of the Chainsaw Man anime, based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s story serialized in Shonen Jump+. The official movie synopsis introduces Reze as a mysterious girl who enters Denji’s life and changes his everyday routine; MAPPA is credited for production. The dance’s reach is therefore tied to a character and song connected to the film, rather than to a separate film-performance record. Is the viral post the same as the film’s box-office record?
No. The X claim concerns a social-media post; theatrical admissions and box office are separate measures. Official Japanese figures show the film’s cumulative performance at two distinct cutoffs:

Streaming access depends on territory and can change. The official anime site’s August 25, 2026 announcement says the film would be available on Prime Video in Japan from September 19, and cautions that availability may change. That announcement does not establish availability in other countries.
