Cheryl Hines appeared on The View on October 14, 2025, to promote her memoir, Unscripted. The conversation shifted toward her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and his qualifications and public-health views. TheWrap described a pointed exchange between Hines and co-host Sunny Hostin; Hines later said she had expected questions about Kennedy and had hoped to discuss her book.
Why was Cheryl Hines on The View?
Hines’s October 14 appearance was connected to the promotion of Unscripted, her memoir, according to TheWrap’s contemporaneous account. The discussion, however, became focused on Kennedy, then the subject of questions about his qualifications and views on public health.
What did Hines and Sunny Hostin disagree about?
TheWrap reported that Hostin challenged Kennedy’s qualifications to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, describing him as the “least qualified” head of the agency. Hines pushed back, pointing to his career studying toxins and health and questioning the basis for Hostin’s assessment. Those were the positions expressed in the exchange; the interview coverage does not independently establish the merits of either characterization.
The encounter was described as tense or pointed. The available reporting does not establish that the whole interview was hostile, or provide a complete official transcript, so excerpts should not be treated as a full account of everything said on air.

What did Hines say about the interview afterward?
In follow-up coverage published October 28, 2025, TheWrap reported Hines’s remarks from an appearance on Hot Mics With Billy Bush. She said she had expected questions about her husband and that the panel had not asked about her book. TheWrap also reported her summary of the experience: “They just wanted to grill me about Bobby.”
Hines said she had hoped for a more personal conversation. These are her retrospective comments about the appearance, rather than an independent transcript or assessment of the panel’s intentions.

What the appearance does—and does not—establish
The exchange shows Hines defending her husband when the discussion turned to his qualifications and public-health views. It does not, by itself, resolve claims about Kennedy’s policies, expertise, or public-health record. ABC describes The View as a talk show with celebrity and political guests and says full episodes are available through Hulu, but that general program information does not verify the details of this particular 2025 appearance.
