Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture follows mercenary brothers Ash and Rozé as they join a resistance movement in occupied former Hokkaido. The 12-episode series is listed on Disney+ and Hulu, though availability depends on territory. Here are the essentials on its premise, characters, episode format, continuity, streaming options and announced Blu-ray.
What is Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture about?
The story is set in Kowa Year 7 in the former Hokkaido Block, occupied by the Neo-Britannian Empire. The mercenary brothers Ash and Rozé, known together as the “Nameless Mercenaries,” take a job that draws them into the Japanese resistance group Seven Shining Stars. Their objective is to confront Neo-Britannia and recapture Emperor Sakuya. An energy barrier called the Shitunpe Wall has obstructed liberation efforts for three years, according to the official series introduction.
Who are Ash and Rozé, and what does each brother do?
- Ash is the physically gifted fighter and accomplished Knightmare Frame pilot. He brings combat skill to the brothers’ operations.
- Rozé is the analytical one: he gathers information and directs strategy.
The brothers work as a pair, but their strengths are distinct—Ash handles the frontline threat, while Rozé helps determine how and where they act.
How many episodes are there, and what is the format?
The streaming edition is a single 12-episode series. Disney+ lists episode titles from “Melting Snow” through “Breaking Dawn,” and the official series site also identifies it as 12 episodes.

The episode summaries trace the plot from the brothers’ early action in the Northern Lands and a rescue mission to alliance-building and an operation involving Damocles. Later entries mention revelations about Ash’s past and Geass, an attack on the resistance base, intelligence about a proposed peace, and a threat to Sakura. The final summaries describe an effort to nullify the barrier and Ash facing a final battle. These are broad plot signposts, not a full recap; see the Disney+ episode guide for the platform’s episode-by-episode listings.
Where can you watch it?
The official series site says the series is streaming on Disney+. Hulu’s US listing also shows one season and 12 episodes. Catalog rights vary by territory and may change, so check your local service listing and confirm it includes all 12 episodes before subscribing or planning a watch.

Is its place in Code Geass continuity clear?
The official series and platform pages cited here establish the setting, premise and episode listings, but they do not resolve the franchise’s continuity branches or give a definitive viewing order. Treat claims about exactly how this series fits into the wider continuity as unconfirmed unless supported by a dedicated official explanation.

Spoilers: What happens at the end?
The Disney+ episode guide says Ash faces a final battle, and its final summaries refer to an operation to nullify the Shitunpe Wall. That listing does not establish every character’s fate or provide enough detail for a definitive interpretation of the ending. For those specifics, the episodes themselves are the necessary source; the available synopsis alone cannot settle them.
