Why there is no reliable list of seven
“Most famous” is subjective, and no published count or ranking establishes Charlton Athletic’s best-known supporters. More importantly, the available sources do not verify seven distinct famous people as Addicks. The names below are therefore not a ranked top seven: they show what the evidence can and cannot support.
The strongest documented name
Karl Howman
The actor Karl Howman is the clearest celebrity supporter in the available material. A Charlton Chat retrospective describes him as a well-known Charlton fan and traces his support to his grandfather, who was a chief engineer on the Woolwich Ferry. It also recalls Howman liking players Charlie Wright and Harry Gregory in his early days. Charlton Chat is a supporter-run archive, not an official club record, so the attribution belongs to that source.
A plausible name with weaker sourcing
Björn Borg
The tennis champion Björn Borg is identified as a Charlton supporter in a Charlton Life forum post reproducing an interview said to have originated on the club website. In the reproduced account, Borg says his father and grandfather supported Charlton and that his father took him to a match. A FunTrivia quiz also names him, but does not document its sources. Without the original interview page, this is a plausible claim rather than strong primary-source confirmation.

Names the sources do not establish
Kelly Holmes
Olympic athlete Kelly Holmes is named as a Charlton supporter in the same FunTrivia quiz. The quiz provides no supporting source, so it shows that the claim circulates, not that it is verified.
Cheryl Baker
The Charlton Chat retrospective identifies singer Cheryl Baker as a guest on the same 1990 broadcast as Howman. A guest appearance is not evidence that she supports Charlton, and the source does not make that claim.

Lucy Bishop
Charlton Athletic described Lucy Bishop as a lifelong supporter when it announced her appointment as Fan Adviser in a club announcement. That establishes her connection as a supporter and representative, not celebrity status; the announcement also does not establish that the appointment remains current.

Charlton’s official announcement about supporters’ groups describes a long history of organised fan groups and a recognition structure developed with Charlton Advisory Board representatives. Chief executive Peter Storrie said: “One of the very best things about Charlton Athletic is the groups of fans that get together both near and far, and we want to support our existing passionate supporters’ groups to grow, and for many new ones to be established.” This is context on organised support, not an official list of celebrity fans.
