The cast and creative team behind Stan’s Invisible Boys attended a preview screening at Luna Leederville in Perth on Monday, February 10, 2025. The event came three days before the series’ announced Stan premiere on February 13.
Who attended the Invisible Boys screening?
Stan’s event announcement named five series stars in attendance: Joseph Zada, Aydan Calafiore, Zach Blampied, Joe Klocek and Pia Miranda. Creator, writer and director Nicholas Verso, producer Tania Chambers, and novelist and series writer Holden Sheppard were also at the screening, according to PerthNow.

PerthNow reported that veteran actors Hayley McElhinney and Steve Le Marquand were among the series cast. Stan’s broader event guest list also included Lee Halley, Joel Jackson, Narelda Jacobs, Karina Natt, Jordan Bruno, Myles Pollard, Jamie Ward, Megan Aspinall, Mercy Cornwall, Jade Baynes, Luke Jai McIntosh, Joanna Tu and Olivia Nardini, as well as government ministers Stephen Dawson and David Templeman. These names appear in the event coverage and should not be confused with Stan’s shorter list of stars explicitly identified as attendees.
Stan’s announcement of the Perth screening described it as a special event at Luna Leederville. PerthNow’s report likewise placed the screening at the venue in Perth, Western Australia, and described cast and crew attending alongside local audiences.

What is Stan’s Invisible Boys about?
Set in Geraldton, a remote coastal city in Western Australia, the series follows gay teenagers as they navigate friendship, desire and identity. Its story begins in the aftermath of one boy being outed on social media following an encounter with a married man, against the backdrop of Australia’s 2017 same-sex marriage plebiscite. The event announcement’s description focuses on the social and personal consequences facing the group.
Stan credited Nicholas Verso as creator, writer and director, with Enoch Mailangi, Allan Clarke, Holden Sheppard and Declan Greene also writing for the series. Tania Chambers produced for Feisty Dame Productions, and Verso produced for Asphodel Films. Screen Australia invested in the production in association with Stan, with support from Screenwest, Lotterywest and the WA Regional Screen Fund.

How the screening fit the series’ launch
The February 10 gathering was a preview, not the series’ premiere date. Stan announced that all episodes would premiere together on Thursday, February 13, 2025, exclusively on Stan at launch. That release timing and exclusivity describe the original launch announcement; they do not establish where the series is available now.
TV Tonight also reported on the cast attending the Western Australian screening. Together, the event reports place the preview within the series’ launch in its home state, while the announced national streaming release followed later that week.

Invisible Boys is based on Holden Sheppard’s novel of the same name. Sheppard was involved beyond the source material: Stan listed him among the series writers, and PerthNow identified him as the novel’s author. Readers interested in the story’s original form can look for the novel under Sheppard’s name; specific editions and current stock are not established here.
