Clark later said her aim was to encourage voter registration and education; the report about Kelce does not give her reason for liking it. A reported like is not the same as a spoken endorsement.
What happened
After the September 10, 2024, presidential debate, Swift posted on Instagram that she supported Harris and Walz. She also urged people to research the candidates and reminded first-time voters that they needed to register. Fox News reproduced Swift’s statement: “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered!”
On September 11, TMZ reported that Clark and Kelce were among the accounts that liked the post. The outlet characterized Clark’s like as appearing to show support, but that description is an interpretation of a social-media action—not a direct statement from Clark. TMZ’s report does not establish Kelce’s reason for liking it.
Did Caitlin Clark endorse Kamala Harris?
The reported like alone does not establish a spoken endorsement. When reporters asked about it, Clark emphasized using her platform to encourage people to register and learn about candidates and their policies. The Washington Post reported that she did not verbally proclaim support for Harris in that exchange.

Clark said: “I have this amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing would be just to encourage people to register to vote,” adding, “That’s the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have, and that’s the same thing Taylor did.” She also recommended that people educate themselves about the candidates and the policies they support. These remarks were made to reporters and quoted by Cindy Boren in The Washington Post on September 12, 2024.
What is known about Kylie Kelce’s like?
TMZ reported that Kelce liked Swift’s endorsement post. The report does not include a statement from Kelce explaining the action or a separate endorsement from her. Her motive should not be inferred from Clark’s later comments: the available accounts document different evidence for each woman.

What the engagement figures do—and do not—show
Axios reported historical engagement figures for the post as of 9 p.m. ET on September 11, 2024: more than 9.7 million Instagram likes and more than 1.5 million uses of Instagram’s share feature. These are time-stamped figures from that report, not current totals. Axios also reported about 338,000 visits to Vote.gov in the 15 hours after Swift linked to the site in an Instagram story. Visits are not registrations, and Axios said it was unclear how many visits resulted in registration. None of these figures establishes how many people registered or voted because of Swift’s post.
