The final chapter of Part 2 brings Denji back to circumstances that echo the manga’s opening and revisits Asa and Bucky—but its most important change is Denji’s response. He chooses to help. That gives the ending a clear emotional point while leaving its larger mechanics and the future of Denji and Asa open to interpretation.
VIZ lists Chapter 232 as the final chapter, with an English release date of March 24, 2026. Crunchyroll also reports that the chapter ended Part 2; neither source establishes that the creator has ruled out a future continuation.
What happens in the final chapter of Chainsaw Man?
Chapter 232 returns Denji to a situation resembling the story’s early days. It revisits the shack and the Bucky incident involving Asa, but Denji intervenes to help rather than letting the earlier traumatic outcome repeat. The chapter’s closing movement brings Pochita into the ending’s orbit, too.
That is what the chapter shows at a broad level. Calling it a reset, an alternate timeline, or proof of Pochita’s ultimate fate goes further than the available evidence supports. The ending invites those readings, but does not settle every question about how the return works. Gizmodo’s discussion of the ending and Sequential Planet’s chapter review likewise frame the finale as a moment open to interpretation.

Does Denji’s final choice complete his arc?
The clearest emotional hinge is Denji’s choice to act differently. Part 2 has spent time with his wants, relationships, and limited control over his circumstances; in the finale, helping Asa gives him a moment of agency. The gesture is simple, but its significance comes from the contrast with what happened before: this time, he steps in.
That choice can feel like a fitting endpoint because it gives Denji a chance to do something for another person without pretending that his life is suddenly solved. It can also feel too small beside the conflicts and losses the story has accumulated. The chapter offers a changed response, not a detailed account of what follows from it.

What does the ending resolve for Asa?
Returning to the Bucky incident reconnects the finale to Asa’s early story and lets Denji’s intervention alter the emotional shape of that encounter. It gives their connection a final point of contact, but not a fully explained future. Readers looking for a clear declaration of what Denji and Asa become, or for a complete account of Asa’s path, may find the ending deliberately—or frustratingly—open.
Is Chapter 232 a satisfying ending?
That depends on what a reader wants a finale to do. Its return to an early-story situation creates formal symmetry, and Denji’s different choice gives the chapter an emotionally legible center. The compressed structure can make that simplicity feel purposeful: rather than resolving every thread, the ending concentrates on one action and the possibility of a different life.
Rank #3
The same compression is also the chapter’s risk. If the expectation is a fuller reckoning with Part 2’s conflicts, the return may feel abrupt or as though it bypasses too much. One contemporaneous review describes the ending as unsatisfying, but that is an individual critic’s response, not evidence of a broader consensus. The useful question is whether the emotional beat of Denji helping Asa feels earned enough to carry an ending that leaves substantial questions unanswered.
