BGR’s “100 Best Shows On Netflix” is an editorial guide published April 11, 2025—not an official Netflix ranking or a guarantee that every title is available in your country today. It ranges across genres and formats, from drama and comedy to documentary, reality, animation, fantasy and thriller. Treat it as a dated discovery list, then check your local Netflix catalog before settling on a show.
What the April 2025 list is—and isn’t
Jacob Siegal’s BGR guide is a snapshot of shows the publication recommended as streaming on Netflix when the article appeared on April 11, 2025. BGR says it updates the guide as titles arrive and leave the service, but the date matters: streaming catalogs change, and the article does not establish availability by country or confirm what remains available now. The headline’s “100” is BGR’s own count. The list is not described as an official Netflix selection, and the article does not supply a scoring rubric or say that its order reflects viewership, critic ratings or popularity. Nor are all the picks Netflix Originals: the guide includes shows made or originally broadcast by other networks and studios as well as Netflix productions.
What kinds of shows are included?
The recommendations cover a broad mix of genres and formats. Examples named in the article include The Residence, Black Doves, Blue Eye Samurai, Chef’s Table, Black Mirror and Money Heist. Their range makes the list useful for browsing beyond one mood or category, including scripted series and documentary or reality programming.

Rather than treating the list as a definitive ranking, use it to find candidates. Compare the genre and tone, cast, and the time commitment implied by a show’s seasons and episodes. Then confirm that the title appears in your own Netflix catalog; availability can differ by region and change over time.

BGR notes that Bridgerton is inspired by Julia Quinn’s bestselling novels. If the series sparks your interest in its source material, the books offer a companion read; that connection is specific to Bridgerton, not a general recommendation attached to the rest of the list.
