In September 2017, Bunbury-born actor and model Courtney Eaton returned to Perth for Perth Fashion Festival events, including STM’s Opening Night. The occasion brought together her early Western Australian modelling story and the film career she was building in Hollywood.
Why Courtney Eaton was back in Perth
PerthNow’s Pip Christmass reported on 4 September 2017 that Eaton had returned to Perth to take part in Perth Fashion Festival events. The profile specifically names STM’s Opening Night and a Styled by STM lunch. These were events from 2017, not current listings. Read the PerthNow profile.
From Bunbury to Hollywood film sets
The profile describes Eaton as born in Bunbury and says she had been living in Los Angeles for almost three years at the time of the interview. It traces her growing public profile through her casting as Cheedo the Fragile in Mad Max: Fury Road and her appearance in Gods of Egypt.
Her return to Perth was therefore a homecoming as well as a fashion appearance: the profile connected the Western Australian beginnings of her modelling career with screen work that had taken her to Hollywood.

How Eaton described fashion and her career
In the 2017 interview, Eaton described her everyday clothes as relaxed: “Fashion-wise, day to day, I’m in jeans and a ripped T-shirt. I’m pretty comfy and lazy, but when I go out I have my own style. I have fun with it. It’s not something that I’m scared of, but it’s also not something that I spend a lot of time thinking about.” She distinguished that casual routine from dressing up for appearances.
She also said she preferred a small independent film project at that point in her career, and summed up her outlook with: “I live very much in the moment.” These comments reflect her perspective in 2017, rather than an account of her current preferences.

The modelling career that started in WA
Christmass’s profile places Eaton’s early modelling story in Western Australia and includes a recollection from Christine Fox, then identified as head of Vivien’s Models: “I could see what she was going to be.” The remark frames Eaton’s later film visibility against the promise Fox saw in her early career.
The profile also reported that Eaton had 237,000 Instagram followers in 2017. That figure is a dated snapshot from the article, not a current follower count.
