BLACKPINK’s Lisa will star in TYGO, a South Korean-set action thriller in Netflix’s Extraction universe. The film follows Tygo, a former child soldier turned mercenary who seeks revenge in Korea’s underworld after a mission goes wrong. Netflix announced the project on December 5, 2025, but has not announced a release date.
What is TYGO about?
Netflix describes TYGO as a global action thriller centered on Tygo, a former child soldier who becomes a mercenary. When a mission goes wrong, he pursues revenge through Korea’s underworld. The announcement does not disclose further plot details or identify the people Tygo targets.
The film is set in the shared Extraction universe, bringing the franchise into a South Korean context. Netflix calls the project a distinctly Korean entry in that world.
Who stars in TYGO?
- Don Lee stars and is also credited as a producer.
- Lee Jin-uk is among the announced lead cast.
- Lalisa “LISA” Manobal of BLACKPINK is also a star. Netflix describes the role as her first major film role, following her acting debut in season three of The White Lotus.
Netflix has not announced Lisa’s character name or described her character’s role in the story. Her involvement is confirmed; more specific claims about her character are not.

How is TYGO connected to Extraction?
TYGO is a distinct story in the shared Extraction universe, not an announced direct adaptation of the franchise’s source graphic novel. Netflix says the Extraction films are based on Ciudad, created by Ande Parks and Anthony and Joe Russo; that connection does not establish Ciudad as the source of TYGO.
Netflix’s December 2025 announcement cited its own audience figures for the franchise: it said 90 million households watched the first Extraction film in its first four weeks, calling it the service’s biggest-ever film premiere at the time. Netflix also reported more than 123 million views for Extraction 2, which it said stayed at number one on its Global Top 10 Movies (English) list for seven weeks. These are Netflix-published figures, not independent measurements.
