Britney Spears and her father, Jamie Spears, settled their remaining legal dispute over fees and the management of her finances during her conservatorship in April 2024. The settlement terms were not publicly disclosed. The agreement resolved later litigation; Spears’s conservatorship had ended in November 2021.
What did Britney and Jamie Spears settle?
The dispute concerned Jamie Spears’s legal fees and his management of Britney Spears’s finances while he served as conservator of her estate. The Los Angeles Times reported that the parties settled in Los Angeles County Superior Court on April 25, 2024. The Associated Press reported that a judge approved the settlement the following day and that a hearing scheduled for the next Monday was removed from the calendar. A court filing described Jamie Spears as “fully and finally discharged as Former Conservator of the Estate.” That concerned his role and the remaining proceedings; it did not mark the end of the conservatorship, which had concluded more than two years earlier. (The Guardian)

No. The cited reports said the terms were confidential or undisclosed. They do not establish how much, if anything, Britney Spears paid Jamie Spears, how fees were allocated, or whether the agreement included admissions or other private conditions.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Jamie Spears had sought more than $2 million in payments to multiple law firms before the settlement. That was a pre-settlement request, not a disclosed settlement amount. (Los Angeles Times)
How is the 2024 settlement different from the end of the conservatorship?
The conservatorship ended in November 2021. The April 2024 agreement dealt with litigation that remained afterward, including disputes about fees and financial management during the arrangement. What was alleged, and what did the settlement establish?
Britney Spears’s legal team raised allegations of financial misconduct and surveillance. Jamie Spears denied wrongdoing.
