Actor Kelsey Grammer belongs on a more qualified list: he attended a Rovers match in 2014 because of a family connection, but that appearance does not establish him as a regular supporter. These six names are a curated selection, not an official or ranked club list.
Why these six names—and why the evidence varies
There is no objective measure of which supporters are “most famous,” and published lists differ. This selection combines public profile with the strength of the evidence for a connection to Bristol Rovers. A first-person statement of lifelong support is stronger evidence than a single match appearance.

Jeffrey Archer
The Bristol Post’s celebrity-supporter roundup describes author Jeffrey Archer as a big Bristol Rovers fan and links his childhood connection to growing up in Weston-super-Mare. The article reproduces remarks attributed to Archer about supporting both Rovers and Somerset County Cricket Club: “I’m a man who is used to losing,” he joked. “Over the years I’ve supported Bristol Rovers and Somerset County Cricket Club.” This makes him one of the clearest choices for the list: the published account presents a lasting allegiance and includes his own words.

Kelsey Grammer
Grammer attended Bristol Rovers’ home match against Rochdale in April 2014. The Guardian’s 2026 retrospective connects the visit to his then-fiancée, now wife, Kayte Walsh, whose father, Alan Walsh, was a Rovers coach. The Guardian also notes that Grammer does not appear to have returned to the Memorial Stadium, so the well-known appearance is not proof of an ongoing supporters’ connection.
#1 Best Overall
- Proud to be Bristol Rovers supporter
- For all those who love Bristol Rovers and support the city and area.
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
In an ITV report, Grammer recalled being photographed yawning at the game and described it as boring. The match was the one in which Rovers were relegated. His presence made for a memorable story, but the available accounts point to a family connection and a single visit—not evidence that he is a lifelong fan.

Maya Jama
Broadcaster Maya Jama’s connection is described as local and familial. The Bristol Post roundup says she chose Rovers because she is from Bristol and her family supports the club, quoting her as saying: “I went with Bristol Rovers because I am from Bristol. My family support Bristol Rovers, that’s their local team.”
Geoff Barrow
Musician Geoff Barrow, known for his work with Portishead, is named among Rovers supporters in published roundups. The Bristol Post account also reports his appearances in charity matches. That provides a public link to the club, although the cited coverage offers less direct detail about the length or nature of his support than it does for Archer and Roni Size.

Roni Size
Bristol musician and producer Roni Size has given a direct account of his allegiance. The Bristol Post roundup quotes him saying: “I’ve been supporting Bristol Rovers all my life. There’s only one team in Bristol as far as I’m concerned.” Among the names here, his published statement is especially clear evidence of lifelong support.
Jane Couch
Former professional boxer Jane Couch is included in the Fan Banter roundup of famous supporters of League One clubs. The available coverage names her as a Rovers supporter but provides less supporting detail than the published accounts for Archer, Jama, Barrow and Size. Her inclusion is therefore best understood as a reported association, not a claim backed here by a detailed first-person account.
