Sonnier also explained that keeping Jack far away gives Danny room to focus on his younger son Sean, who is in Boston, and suits the story the series is telling. He said the show wanted to keep in view that Danny has two sons, and framed Jack’s work as part of the Reagan family’s calling to service.
Is Jack the missing child in a Boston Blue episode?
No connection is established in the official episode information. CBS lists season one, episode 17, “L’dor Vador,” as airing May 1, 2026. Its episode guide says Danny joins a familiar ally after a captured serial killer hints at the whereabouts of a missing child; it does not identify that child as Jack.

A CBS press release dated April 13, 2026 gives the same story premise and identifies Bridget Moynahan as guest star Erin Reagan. Neither source says Danny’s son is the missing child. The episode’s procedural mystery should not be treated as a new reveal about Jack.
How Jack’s story differs from Sean’s
CBS describes Boston Blue as an expansion of Blue Bloods, with Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan working for the Boston Police Department alongside Detective Lena Silver. Danny hopes to reconnect with Sean, played by Mika Amonsen, who is based in Boston. Paramount’s August 2026 series overview identifies Sean as Officer Sean Reagan and describes Danny’s efforts to balance mentorship and fatherhood.
