In Say Everything: A Memoir, released March 4, 2025, Skye recounts that she and Cusack slept together after her divorce from Adam Horovitz. She said she “had to get it out of my system,” according to People’s March 4, 2025 report.
The disclosure concerns an encounter years after the 1989 film Say Anything, not something that happened while the movie was being made. The Independent reported that Skye and Cusack were friendly while working together and did not pursue a romance then. Skye’s account places the encounter after her divorce from Horovitz. How Skye described the encounter afterward
In an interview with Extra published March 11, 2025, Skye clarified that she was not criticizing Cusack as a lover: “It wasn’t that the sex wasn’t good. It’s not that he wasn’t a good lover — I do want to clear that up. It’s just that it didn’t go anywhere from that. It was like a fun romp, but our friendship endured.” (Extra, March 11, 2025.)

The disclosure is Skye’s account in her memoir and subsequent interview. The cited coverage does not report Cusack confirming it, so it should not be presented as a jointly verified account. The distinction matters: the story is about Skye’s recollection of a private encounter, not a newly revealed romance during the production of Say Anything.
