In an October 2005 interview with BlackFilm.com, Kodjoe discussed his wife and the prospect of becoming a father around the time he was filming The Gospel. The interview also referred to their daughter Sophie.
When they got married
Parker’s interview coverage gives the couple’s wedding date as May 21, 2005. That date places their marriage in the same year as Kodjoe’s interview about fatherhood.

Parker has described compatibility, affection and love as important to a marriage. In interview coverage, she also spoke about choosing to continue building a life together through difficult periods. These are her reflections on the relationship, rather than a complete account of the couple’s private life.
Kodjoe has described marriage as requiring repeated effort and learning through trial and error. He said, “It’s trial by error. It’s putting effort in every single day, but I found my person.” His comment frames the relationship as ongoing work, not a formula for guaranteeing a lasting marriage.

Recent interview coverage names two children, Sophie and Nicolas. An older VCU News profile says the couple has three children, a count that conflicts with those later accounts. The sources do not explain the difference, so the discrepancy should remain unresolved rather than be treated as settled fact.
Kodjoe has spoken about the importance of showing up as a father. In a 2005 interview, he said, “I think the most important thing about a father is to show up.” He also discussed hopes for his daughter’s independence.
