Spoilers for the final chapters of the Bleach manga. Ichigo’s final Zanpakuto sequence moves from his reforged pair of swords to Bankai, then to a changed blade in the last exchange with Yhwach. The manga shows that progression, but the official chapter listings do not explain every sword’s mechanics or establish a definitive blade-by-blade map of Ichigo’s powers.
Where the final Zanpakuto sequence happens
The sequence unfolds near the end of the manga. Shueisha identifies BLEACH, volume 74, as the final volume and lists it as containing chapters 675–686. Chapter 684 is titled “THE BLADE.” The publisher’s synopsis says Ichigo enters the final battle against Yhwach with the feelings of his companions placed into his sword.

Shueisha’s volume 74 listing records the Japanese print edition’s publication date as November 4, 2016, its length as 232 pages, and its ISBN as 978-4-08-880774-4. Those catalog details locate the ending; they do not provide a technical explanation of the sword transformations.
What happens to Ichigo’s swords
He begins with the reforged dual-sword state
After his Zanpakuto is reforged, Ichigo carries two blades. This paired form is the starting point for the final sequence, rather than a separate weapon unrelated to his earlier Zanpakuto.

He releases Bankai
In the confrontation with Yhwach, Ichigo transitions from the dual-sword state to Bankai. The manga presents this as a distinct stage of the fight. The official synopsis confirms the final-battle context, but the listing alone does not specify the Bankai’s full capabilities.
Yhwach acts against the Bankai, and the final exchange shows a changed blade
Yhwach’s action against Ichigo’s Bankai precedes the last exchange, in which the blade is presented differently. The change matters to how the ending reads, but catalog descriptions are not enough to establish a precise supernatural mechanism for it. It is safest to describe what the sequence depicts rather than claim the listings prove exactly how the final blade works—or whether it is simply the old Shikai form.

What the two swords may represent
Readers often interpret Ichigo’s paired blades and later Bankai imagery through the different strands of his identity, including his Shinigami, Hollow, and Quincy inheritance. That is a reading of the imagery, not a blade-by-blade explanation established by the official catalog material cited here. The publisher’s synopsis supports the broader idea that Ichigo carries his companions’ feelings into the final battle; it does not assign a specific inheritance or power to each sword.
Likewise, the manga’s final sword presentation invites interpretation, but the official listings do not supply creator commentary that settles its exact symbolism or mechanics. Distinguish what the panels show from conclusions about what each blade must represent.
