Lively’s representatives said the clip supported her account of what happened on set; Baldoni’s representatives said it contradicted her account. Those are opposing interpretations of the footage, not findings established by the clip.
What was in the released footage?
The footage, released by attorney Bryan Freedman, included a scene filmed on May 23, 2023, in which Lively and Baldoni’s characters slow-dance. Global News reported that the actors talk about their spouses and joke while filming. The release was described as roughly 10 minutes of raw, unedited material.
The video shows a portion of a film set and a scene being performed. What that material means—and whether it captures all relevant context—is disputed by the two sides.
What did Blake Lively say about the clip?
Lively’s representatives said the footage corroborated her account. They alleged that Baldoni leaned toward her, kissed her forehead, touched her face and neck, and made comments out of character. They said the physical contact was improvised without prior discussion or consent, and that no intimacy coordinator was present.

Her legal team called the video “damning” and said it corroborated what she had included in her complaint. Those statements are her representatives’ characterization of the footage, not an independent determination that the alleged conduct occurred as described.
How did Justin Baldoni’s team interpret it?
Baldoni’s representatives said the video refuted Lively’s characterization. Their opening statement described the scene as one intended to show the characters falling in love and longing for closeness, and characterized the actors’ behavior as respectful and within the scene’s scope. Baldoni denied the allegations.

The accounts therefore differ over the scene’s purpose, whether the physical contact was agreed to in advance, and what the footage demonstrates. The clip alone does not resolve those disagreements; the parties’ descriptions remain opposing advocacy positions.
Why did Baldoni release the footage?
His representatives presented the footage as a response to Lively’s account and as evidence they said contradicted it. The reporting cited here establishes that stated purpose, but not a single mutually agreed reason for the release.

What is the legal dispute’s current status?
It Ends With Us, released in August 2024, is adapted from Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel. Lively’s claims concerned alleged conduct during production and alleged retaliation. Baldoni denied wrongdoing and later brought claims against Lively and others.
The civil dispute settled in May 2026, before the scheduled trial, according to the Associated Press; the settlement terms were not disclosed. AP also reported that a judge dismissed Baldoni’s defamation and extortion case in June 2025 and Lively’s sexual-harassment claims in April 2026. The settlement does not, by itself, establish the truth of every public allegation or either side’s interpretation of the 2025 footage.
