Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’s fourth child had arrived by February 13, 2023, according to contemporary reports. The couple did not make a formal birth announcement: the reports followed Lively’s Super Bowl Sunday Instagram post, which coverage interpreted as a sign that she was no longer pregnant.
How news of the fourth child became public
On February 12, 2023, Lively posted photos with the caption “Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023🥘 🍲 🥧 been busy.” Vogue described the post as a subtle announcement, while the Los Angeles Times noted that she appeared in a photo without her earlier pregnancy bump. Those outlets interpreted the images as indicating the baby had arrived; Lively’s caption itself did not announce a birth.
Vogue, the Los Angeles Times, and Entertainment Tonight reported on February 13 that the couple had welcomed their fourth child. Their coverage establishes that the birth had occurred by then, but does not establish an exact birth date.
What Ryan Reynolds said about the announcement
In an interview with CNBC’s Power Lunch on February 17, Reynolds said the couple had not issued a formal birth announcement. As ABC News reported, he said, “We just posted a photo and the media sort of did what it does after that.” He also said, “Everybody’s doing great. Everybody’s actually doing fantastic.”

Asked whether the baby was a boy or a girl, Reynolds declined to say. ELLE reported his response: “I ain’t telling.” He added, “This ain’t a birth announcement.”
The family’s older children
Contemporary coverage identified the couple’s three older children as James, Inez, and Betty. Lively had revealed her fourth pregnancy at the Forbes Power Women’s Summit in September 2022, according to Vogue and Entertainment Tonight.

What was—and was not—confirmed
The February 2023 reports support the news that the couple’s fourth child had arrived and that the family was doing well. They do not establish the baby’s exact birth date, name, or sex. Reynolds specifically declined to disclose the sex, and the reports cited here did not confirm a name.
